I’m looking for a good guided meditation that works for depression. Have any of you found something that helps?

I think the meds are kinda sorta working but I’m still struggling and I’m looking for some relief while I wait for the new dose to kick in.

Im listening to a guided meditation on self-enquiry by Adyashanti. Im not sure how Im supposed to listen to it. He says not to listen with the mind. Does that mean not to consciously listen and think about what hes saying? When my mind is very still, do I focus on the meaning of what hes saying or do I just let my mind wander and go where it likes in the hope that the words resonate at some other level?

Thanks for any help/pointers.

Let attention rest with the just words rather than struggle to understand them.  That struggle to understand is what triggers getting lost in the mind.  Return attention again and again to the immediacy of what he is saying when you find youve been lost in the mind.  The consciousness that hears the words he speaks has its own wisdom and that will take care of everything else.  It is minds grasping for understanding that stands in the way.
When my mind is very still, do I focus on the meaning of what hes saying or do I just let my mind wander and go where it likes in the hope that the words resonate at some other level

I can personally attest to the power of guided meditation to reduce anxiety and stress. I can understand how some people might be put off for the smallest reason. For example, in the video you linked, the voice is calm and without emotion but almost to the point of sounding robotic and fake. This was my initial reaction when I heard Sarah Raymond's voice in a different audio track.

My advice to anybody who is curious but not feeling it is to try your best to let go of any preconceived ideas. If something is putting you off, try to find a way around it rather than dismissing the idea altogether. If you start with the goal of just putting 20 mins aside each day to listen to a guided meditation, and just do it without thinking too much about the outcome, you will soon find that it helps without even feeling like you had to try. That's kind of the point. From there, you might want to look at refining the process and truly understanding the discipline.

When you first start, it's normal to just feel like all you're doing is sitting in silence. If you feel that, then you can be reassured that you're on the right track.
